Tasked with documenting the Syracuse Orange vs. Virginia Cavaliers game. Using my Sony A7SIII paired with a Sony G 200-600mm lens alongside Tim Skeval and Ethan Salm, I focused on capturing the raw emotion of the fans and the tension of the game. I sifted through the footage picking out the best moments and carefully balancing the game action with engaging storytelling to recreate the excitement of the event.

Task
Create a cinematic recap documenting the matchup between the Syracuse Orange and Virginia Cavaliers that has more than 85 years of history.
Means
Worked with Tim Skeval and Ethan Salm as a three camera group. I personally used a Sony A7SIII paired with the Sony G 200-600mm.
Strategy
Going into the game, I really wanted to capture the emotion of the fans and the tension of the game. Pregame I went into the tailgates to capture the scenes and better connect with the energy of this matchup. I shot from the stands giving a broader angle of the game. This was critical for showing the flow of the plays as it can be easier to track for the viewers eyes in comparison to a sideline angle that is more intense.
Execution
As soon as the clock hit zero, I collected the footage from the three separate cameras and filtered through the best moments while envisioning how I could recreate the moment. This opportunity allowed me to put my storytelling skills to the test as I combined three different angles and found the proper balance between game action and creating an engaging video.
